Ben Cronin (Jesse Bradford) sieht als heißestes Schwimmtalent der High School einer glücklichen Zukunft als College-Stipendiat entgegen. Auch mit seiner Freundin Amy (Shiri Appleby) hat er augenscheinlich das große Los gezogen. Trotzdem lässt er sich auf einen One-Night-Stand mit der aufregenden Madison ein (Erika Christensen, Michael Douglas' "Traffic"-Tochter). Die entpuppt sich als anhängliche Psychopathin und schreckt, als Ben auf stur schaltet, auch vor handfesten "Liebesbeweisen" nicht zurück.
