Broadway Danny Rose

Danny Rose (Woody Allen) leitet eine Künstleragentur in New York, zwar stets das Letzte gebend, aber trotzdem wenig erfolgreich. Als der Sänger Lou Canova ihn bittet, ihm bei seinem Comeback zu helfen, ist Danny sofort dabei. Das Problem ist nur: Lou braucht das Mädchen Tina (Mia Farrow) als ständige Inspiration, um überhaupt singen zu können, ist jedoch verheiratet. Jetzt soll Danny Tinas Freund spielen. Der gibt sein Bestes, ahnt aber noch nicht, daß Lou Tina einem Gangsterboss ausgespannt hat, der immer noch Liebeskummer hat...

A hapless talent manager named Danny Rose, by helping a client, gets dragged into a love triangle involving the mob. His story is told in flashback, an anecdote shared amongst a group of comedians over lunch at New York's Carnegie Deli. Rose's one-man talent agency represents countless incompetent entertainers, including a one-legged tap dancer, and one slightly talented one: washed-up lounge singer Lou Canova (Nick Apollo Forte), whose career is on the rebound.
