Marta hat ihr Philosophiestudium cum laude abgeschlossen und macht sich enthusiastisch auf die Suche nach einem Job. Sie hat, wie ihre Mutter sagt, ihr ganzes Leben noch vor sich. Doch bald muss sie enttäuscht feststellen, dass die Welt nicht auf sie gewartet hat. Durch Zufall lernt sie das kleine Mädchen Lara kennen, die gemeinsam mit ihrer Mutter Sonia einen Babysitter sucht. Marta sind die beiden sofort sympathisch, und so werden die drei ein Team. Während Sonia in einem Callcenter jobbt, erzählt Marta der kleinen Lara Platons Höhlengleichnis als Gute-Nacht-Geschichte.
