Mit einer starken politischen Komponente versucht Stephen Hopkins sein pyrotechnisches Actionhappening vom Genregros abzuheben. Leider bleibt die Psychologie der Figuren so diffus, daß selbst Jeff Bridges und Tommy Lee Jones auf verlorenem Posten stehen und die zahlreichen Explosionen am nachhaltigsten überzeugen.
